Hello!

I’m Alicia.

Life is full any way you look at it —arguably at its best when shared with others & most satisfying when lived for God, by whom all things were made (and creatively so!).

A friend said I’d throw a party for anything. True. If there’s a viable reason (or we make one up), why not?

If & When Co. lands me smack-dag in the “party scene” (so to speak). Here the end game is making things pretty and people happy. This job demands my head, heart, and hands, which makes engaging each job as unique as the people I encounter - no two are alike.

It’s my honor to know my customer and serving them well by making lovely the stage for their grand moments—beautifying the “stage”, encouraging those gathered to linger and honor the life we do together.

All in all…If & When Co. is a labor of love.

A little more about me … I hail from the not-so-gritty South. (That means I say hello to strangers). Despite ‘debutante’ roots, Pennsylvania’s been home since 2009 but I’m freshly initiated into the Connecticut Club. All in all, I’ve warmed up to the North - a nice way of saying…

Lollygag at a green and I will honk at you.

I love people, flowers & design (in that order) so it was only natural to burgeon a business fueled by a love for three things that go so well together.

When asked:

Why

“If & When”?

The short answer to the funny name: It’s something I say a lot and happens to work … plus it has an ampersand and I love those!
(This is an ampersand by the way—> &. Do not call it “the and symbol” no matter how strong the urge).

In any naming process, lots of names debut and friends weren’t hurting for ideas, though most made a quick exit, stage left. (The name that is, not my friends).

However, “If & When” came up most and often over pancakes, sausage and a hankering for home-fries at a local favorite, Zake’s Cafe. My punny friend, Liz, and I’d sip too much iced coffee while doodling on paper tablecloths, numerous times before a walk at the Wissahickon. Over diminishing pancakes, "if & when" made special cameo appearances into sentences by the word wizard across the table. And wizards have a way of wearing one down.
My friend, Shalee, later added: “You should add the ‘Co.’ … unless you like confusing people”. Never to take my creative and practical friends for granted, here we are.

And so, like many good things in life, this name came about in the good company of friends and food.
